What is a Spiritual Birth?

There is a physical birth when a newborn baby is born. But there is a second birth, if one is lucky, that we can call as a spiritual birth. Physical birth brings us from nothing to something that is physical, and spiritual birth moves us from physical to non-physical. With the physical birth, our five senses start to function, and with the spiritual birth, our sixth sense opens. Before the opening of this sense, we live in the world of shadows and illusions. We believe in imaginary stories and false rhetoric. If someone tries to point out that the world we live in is false and merely a construction, we feel resentful toward him; that is quite natural. Because to us it does not look so. Before the spiritual birth, we follow the script handed down to us by our parents, teachers, and preachers, who themselves know nothing, having inherited it from their elders. Can we imagine the bewilderment and perplexity that come with realizing we have been given a false script? After the spiritual birth, when one looks around and finds people living in their sleep, can we imagine the anxiety and disturbance that scenario generates? One wants to just run away. The spiritual birth happens with a great shock. You do not find any support around you, as your near and dear ones are asleep. You weep, cry, and scream, but the more you do it, the more they take you as a nut case. You want to point out that the script is false. That God is not somewhere outside, living far away from us. That we are not here in this world to suffer. That life is full of abundance given to us as a gift. That you can be happy without any cause. That life is sacred. That now you can feel it, live it, and rejoice in it. That you have tasted the real meaning of what it means to be born. And how many of them do listen to you, pay attention to you? Almost none. Welcome to the spiritual world! It is not the case that you will never find your spiritual companions. It is just the case that there are not many in numbers. They are few and far between. But you have to find them; just a single one will do the job. Otherwise, you may go insane. You cannot stay in the old world. It is too shallow, flat, and boring. Spiritual adventure is calling you. You will see that you will not count your age the day you were born physically, but rather the day you were born spiritually. For the first time in your life, you will know the true meaning of transformation. It is literally a rebirth, not of your body, of course, but of your being. You will clearly see that a new being has come into existence, and the old you have been left far behind. You must have read many fictional and imaginative stories, but the story you unfold now is beyond any imagination and fantasy. We understand only what comes to our experience and perception, so be at ease if no one around you relates to you. And this is the moment you need to find a guide, as the real work has now started. Life is full of mystery which a logical mind cannot comprehend. Your thirst one day will lead you to the guide, for sure.
