We human beings live in a constant fear. Our lives are always anxious. We keep on trembling deep down. We are ruled by fear. Can we overcome it or not? Is there a way out of it? We perform countless measures to escape from it. But it does not go away. It is always there waiting to capture us. The root cause of all of our fears, both known and unknow, is the fear of death. If we are really interested in its removal then we need to face the fear of death. Actually we do not want to die. What is death, if one may ask? Death means the end of our known world and a journey towards unknown. So basically it is not the fear of death per se. Rahter it is fear of unknown. We are used to our lives. We know its routines, habits, ups and downs. We have quite settled ourselves into it. We do not find ourselves willing to go into an unknown realm. But life is not predicatable. We cannot make sure absolutely what will happen in future. So it is not the fear of death per se but rather it is the fear of unknown which keeps us trembling. Mind does not feel comfortable with the unknown. It wants to be certain at every moment otherwise it becomes anxious. It has created so many philosophies, theories and programs to make somehow the sense of the unknown and unpredicatable. But life is too big and too vast to predict. We can only come out of our fears if we go near to life. We will be able then to let go of our tendencies to make life certain and sure. The call of unknown will turn our petty and mediocre lives into share wonder and adventure. Every moment will be a moment of joy and freedom without any shadow of a crippling fear.
