What is Love?

Love is not a thought, or label to an emotion. Love is not a transaction. Love does not originate from a relationship. Love is a total yes to life. We can say that love is another name of God. We can approach God only through love. Love is enough unto itself. Love does not demand anything out of any action or gesture it performs. Love is a healer. Love is an intoxication, an ecstacy and wonder. When it visits, one remains baffeled and awed. You remains puzzled whether to believe or not in the immense generosity and care from the existence. You find yourself too small, petty and flattered at the same time in front of love. You ask time and again what you has done that love bothered to visit him. But you perhaps do not know the ways of love. It is like a fragrance of a flower that does not ask the passerby to approach him or not. Love has no form. It is absolutely formless. We cannot capture it into certain gestures, expressions or actions. We cannot imitate love. It is far greater than our petty and mediocre schemes and plans. Hence we cannot control it. It is beyond our conception. No words, theory or methematical formula can explain it. To talk about it seems fictional and mythical. Rumi says that his pen breaks down when he tries to write about love. To talk about love is not the same as falling in love with love. Our talks and thinking are conceptual but love is existential. To walk with love, you need a certain madness. If you are too logical, practical or conservative, you are not suitable for love. You will keep on hiding from it. It will call you, invite you but you will decline its offers. You will be afraid of love as you know that it will definitely destroy your secure and well planned predicatable and mechanical life. In front of love your world will tremble and shatter so you argue that it is better be away from it. But if you do not taste love it means you will not taste life too. You live in a great illusion thinking that you have a great life. It is not life rather it is pure death without love. Quite true that one only perceives that which one experiences!
